Things To Know...

How to Prepare for your massage:

  • Drink lots of water
  • Don't drink alcohol
  • Avoid too much caffeine
  • Eat a light snack 
  • Have a good stretch!  Reach over your head and bend over to touch your toes.

Arrive about 15 minutes early:

  • Fill out any intake forms
  • Discuss your goals with your therapist for this massage session
  • Let them know of any health issues you are experiencing
  • Discuss any areas that are sensitive or should be avoided
  • Take a deep breath and relax
  • Don't forget to use the restroom

How to get ready:

  • Remove as much clothing as you feel comfortable
  • Remove any jewelry possible
  • Lay on the table as your therapist instructed, face up or face down
  • Cover your body with the top sheet
  • Let the therapist know whether or not you are ready for them to enter the room when they knock

How to get the most from your massage:

  • Breathe - Nice deep breaths, in through the nose, out through the mouth
  • Focus on the touch
  • Let your thoughts go


Let your therapist know:

  • If you become too hot or cold
  • If you would like the music turned up, down or off
  • If the therapist should use more or less pressure
  • If you would like them to move onto a different part of your body or stay longer
  • Anything you need to be different

Things to be shame-free about while on my table:

  • You did not shave
  • You need to blow your nose
  • You have your period
  • You undress to your level of comfort
  • You get an erection
  • You fall asleep
  • You snore
  • You pass gas
  • You have acne
  • You drool
  • You have scars
  • You need more/less pressure
  • You don't like your feet
  • Your are ticklish
  • Your body!
